WE NEED YOUR HELP IN NOT GIVING UP ON THE COMMUNITY NEEDS FOR A FULL SERVICE HOSPITAL
TELL CHRISTINE QUINN TO RECUSE HERSELF
HANDS OFF ST VINCENT'S HOSPITAL
IMPORTANT LAST MEETING TO GET A NEW HOSPITAL
TUESDAY MARCH 06, 2012 Meeting Begins at 9:30AM
COMMUNITY ACTION Begins at 8:00AM waiting for entrance to Hearing.
So Arrive Early (8:00AM) if you want to make sure to be inside for testimony.
Tell Christine Quinn to RECUSE HERSELF with the CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
Make sure you tell any Member of the committed you understand the politics of City Council and you do not appreciate the way QUINN has strong armed the RUDIN PLAN.
The Rudin Condo Plan - as planned will replace our hospital with over 400 luxury condominiums (over 1,000 individuals)
The Rudin plan does not include a Full Service Hospital and must come before the City Council's Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises for public review (the only public access meeting.)
This is one of the last steps in the "ULURP" land use process before the full city council votes where your voice can be heard in testimony. So you know this is the only time the PUBLIC will be allowed to speak at a hearing. The Committee will hold a public hearing on the Rudin Condo Plan this Tuesday, March 6th at 9:30 AM at 250 Broadway, 16th Floor Committee Room (be there from 8AM for IN LINE SOLIDARITY LINEUP making sure we get inside to provide testimony.
Hands Off St Vincent's is demanding that the the Council oppose the Rudin plan. Billionaire William Rudin does not care about the Community. All he cares about is making another billion. The Council Should to deny the RUDIN request, We must show the Council that COMMUNITY CARES FOR A NEW FULL SERVICE HOSPITAL.
Just last Thursday, Community Members were going on an appointment to meet a NYC Council Member to explain the Community's need for a Hospital. To their surprise the entire Rudin Clan was standing outside 250 Broadway on the sidewalk. Bill Rudin, Travis Terry, Melanie Meyers, John Gilbert, and others all had smirks on their faces as the Community members passed them to enter 250 Broadway. Inside the Community members were informed that the Rudin et al were inside before us oiling the Council Members on the SubCommittee so the vote goes their way.
Please join HOSVH to demand that the committee reject The Rudin Condo Plan and to demand a hospital for the over one point five million people a day who live, work in and visit the Lower West Side. We need the Message HANDS OFF ST VINCENT'S HOSPITAL to be LOUD and CLEAR.
In the meantime, call and leave messages for the COUNCIL MEMBERS on MONDAY for those sitting on this Tuesday Zoning and Franchises Sub-Committee that we need a hospital not luxury apartments for 1.5 westside residents, workers, and tourists and dirty politics in NYC will not be tolerated by the NYC COUNCIL.
Here are the names and districts Go to http://council.nyc.gov/html/members/members.shtml to look each up and telephone or email OUR NEED FOR A NEW HOSPITAL (more info after the photo below)
MAKE SURE YOU ARRIVE EARLY AROUND 8AM for the 9:30AM meeting. THE RUDINS ARE KNOWN TO SEND CONSTRUCTION WORKERS TO OCCUPY SEATING IN PUBLIC EVENTS. THE COMMUNITY MUST NOT BE SILENT.
